BILLINGS - Some big changes at the Billings Police Department. Just one day after Deputy Chief, Tim O'Connell announced his retirement, Billings Police Chief Rich St. John names the City's new Deputy Chief and additional promoted commanders.
Deputy Chief O'Connell served with the BPD for nearly 29 years. He was appointed Deputy Chief in May 2008.
Captain Joel Slade will become the City's new Deputy Chief on November 12th. Slade has been with the BPD for almost 28 years.
Sergeant David Cardillo will move into the open Lieutenant position. Cardillo has 17 years with the department.
And officer Justin Jagers becomes a sergeant after 9 1/2 years with the City.
All new appointments will take effect November 12th.
