Body found in Stillwater County house fire

COLUMBUS - One person is dead in a house fire near the town of Nye in Stillwater County.

The Stillwater County Sheriff's Office and area fire departments were dispatched to a structure fire near Nye at 5:47am Thursday morning after a neighbor called 911.

According to Stillwater County Sheriff Cliff Brophy, emergency responders found a body inside the residence while fighting the fire that had engulfed the house.

The Sheriff is not releasing the name, gender, and address of the victim until family members are notified.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but in a press release Sheriff Brophy states that there are no indications of a crime.
