BILLINGS- A blown out tire caused a semi truck transporting bales of hay to overturn on Main Street Saturday afternoon.
According to the Billings Police Department, the driver of the semi was attempting to turn south on to Main from Airport Road when his tire blew out and overturned the truck.
The driver was not injured, but a part of the load did spill on to the roadway, causing two northbound and two southbound lanes to close while crews worked to move the bales to a different truck.
The accident, which happened at 4:30 p.m. on the last day of MontanaFair, caused major traffic congestion as crews worked to clear the scene.
The Billings Police Department says they had personnel at the scene of the wreck until 8:30p.m. .
