BILLINGS, MT - About 90-percent of Rocky Mountain College's almost one-thousand students.. receive scholarships.
The school held its biggest annual fundraiser Friday night at the Billings Hotel & Convention Center, to help pay for those scholarships.
The 24th annual, Black Tie Blue Jeans Scholarship Benefit includes a live auction and a silent auction of donated items.
The event raises almost 300-thousand dollars.
Many volunteers contribute to Black Tie Blue Jeans...and say supporting Rocky is important to them.
"We're not alums, but we believe in the mission of the school," said John Jones, Honorary co-chair for Black Tie Blue Jeans. "We think Rocky is a critical asset to this region, not just Billings but Montana, Wyoming and the other areas."
"It's a great community to raise your kids in," said Darla Jones, John's wife and honorary co-chair for Black Tie Blue Jeans. "We're great supporters of Rocky Mountain College."
The Mid Life Chryslers provided the music for Black Tie & Blue Jeans event.
