Billings women will march in inauguration parade

BILLINGS - Two women from Billings will participate in the the Presidential Inauguration Parade today.

The Native American Women Warriors (NAWW) served as a color guard at the 2012 White House Tribal Nations Conference at the U.S. Department of Interior building, in December.

Mitchelene Big Man is from Lodge Grass and graduated from Senior in 1983 and now lives in Colorado.

Julia Kelly, who went to West and lives in Billings, will also participate in the Inauguration Parade.

"Having this opportunity is unbelievable," said Kelly, NAWW vice president. "We're bringing honor to the past, present and the future of our freedoms and our way of life."

"We're very proud of who we are," said Big Man, NAWW president. "We're proud to be Crow. We're proud to be Native America. We're proud that we served and we love what we do."

Jodie Passes-Porter originally from Crow Agency and now living in North Carolina and Tia Cyrus from Lodge Grass and now living in Colorado, will also march in the parade.
