Billings woman accused of kidnapping kids, taking car from WalMart parking lot

BILLINGS - A Billings woman is accused of kidnapping two children and taking a car from the WalMart parking lot.

Stephanie Byington, 24, is accused of taking two children and the car after getting a ride to the store from their mother.

At around 3:58 p.m. Saturday, police officers were called to 2525 King Avenue West on a report of two young children, a 21-month-old and 2-month-old, being taken in a vehicle by an acquaintance of the mother. The children's mother and her mother went to WalMart with Byington, and when they went into the story, they left the children in the car with Byington. The children's mother came out after shopping and noticed her vehicle and children were gone. After trying to make contact with Byington and get her children back, the mother called the police.
