BILLINGS - Billings School District 2 is officially without a superintendent after tonight.
Board members gathered at a special meeting tonight to vote on Dr. Keith Beeman's severance package.
According to the deal approved tonight, the school district will pay half of Beeman's remaining contract, plus all his benefits, and $11,000 in cash - meant for equipment and relocation costs.
That $11,000 was added on to the original contract agreement.
When it came to vote on the buyout package, all but one of the school board members voted in favor. Trustee Travis Smith was the only dissenting vote.
A crowd of only about 15 people showed up for tonight's meeting - a marked change compared to the overflow crowds drawn to the school board's last two meetings.
Board members will now schedule a meeting for next week to begin work on steps to move the district forward.
