Billings police investigate two early morning robberies

BILLINGS - The Billings Police Department is investigating two robberies that occurred early Wednesday morning.

According to Billings Police Sgt. Shawn Finnegan, the first robbery occurred at the Holiday Gas Station, 790 King Avenue East, shortly after 4 a.m. Wednesday on Billings' south side.

According to witnesses at the Holiday, the suspect entered the front door, selected several items of merchandise, and then brandished a hand gun. The suspect also took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the store on foot.

While officers were searching the area for the suspect, another robbery was reported at the Town Pump, 3150 King Avenue West, on Billings' west end.

About 30 minutes after the first robbery was reported, an individual matching the suspect description from the Holiday robbery entered the Town Pump. The suspect took several items from the gas station then brandished a hand gun. The suspect then fled south on 32nd Street West on foot.

Officers were checking the area of both gas stations and other surrounding gas stations and convenience stores.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 20's. He was wearing a dark jacket, camouflage pants, gloves and a mask covering his face.
