BILLINGS - Early Tuesday morning a Billings casino fell victim to an armed robbery, making it the third robbery this month.
Just before 1:30 a.m. officers were dispatched to a robbery at the Montana Nugget Casino, located at 2150 Grand Avenue.
According to witnesses, the suspect pointed a silver handgun at Casino employees and customers.
The suspect demanded money and was given an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the business.
At this time the suspect has not been located.
He is described as a white male, in his 20s or 30s, 5 foot 8 to 5 foot 10 inches tall and 150-160 pounds.
Billings Police Chief Rich St. John said casinos are the number one targeted business last year, with 25 casino robberies reported in 2012.
Only six of those robberies ended in an arrest.
Stressing the concern that weapons have been used in every single case, Chief St. John said the BPD is increasing the number of officers patrolling areas with casinos late at night.
Every single casino robbery in the past year has involved a weapon, most of which involved a firearm.
