TOWNSEND - Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Enforcement is looking for information about a bighorn ram poaching case west of Townsend.

The incident took place on the Indian Creek lime plant property west of Townsend. On Tuesday, FWP wardens confirmed that a 2 to 2 ½-year-old bighorn ram was shot on the property and left to waste last week, according to a press release from FWP.

FWP Warden Sergeant Dave Loewen called this case a "blatant disregard for wildlife" especially given that bighorn sheep are just beginning to recover from a major die-off in the area that occurred several years ago.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call (800) TIP-MONT with any related information. Callers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
