Belgrade standoff shuts down Jackrabbit Lane

Tense moments this morning as police talk an armed suicidal man out of his vehicle in Belgrade. Belgrade Police received a call at 8:40 this morning of a suisidal man armed with a handgun sitting in a white van near the intersection of Jackrabbit and Glider. Belgrade Police along with Gallatin County Sheriff's deputies and Montana State Troopers responded.

According to Belgrade Police Chief E.J. Clark, officers closed off the streets within about a half mile radius of the scene. At one point the man fired his weapon toward the sky, no one was injured. After about an hour and a half, officers were able to talk the man out of his van. Police say they did deploy a taser at the man as a precaution as he was being arrested.
