BILLINGS - Beartooth Harley Davidson added something for the dogs at its annual Spooktakular.
Dogtoberfest helps the Friends of Billings Dog Parks.
The new event helps raise money for the group...which has been advocating for dog parks in Billings for the past four years.
The efforts paid off with the High Sierra Park in the heights.
But organizers continue to push for fundraisers-- because they say their mission is not yet done.
"Spooktakuklar is a big event we do on Halloween," said Colette Haun, marketing and event coordinator for Beartooth Harley Davidson. "We usually have a costume contest. People come in and they shop, have a lot of food usually on hand. And this time we buddied up with friends of Billings Dog Parks to do a fundraiser."
"We really need (dog parks) here in Billings," said Marcia Clausing, co-chair for Friends of Billings Dog Parks. "80 percent of the households have a dog, 60 percent of that 80 percent have more than one and there's just the one park where you can take your dog in town."
The Friends of Billings Dog Parks...will soon talk with the city council about a dog park on Billings west end...at the work session on November 19th.
