BILLINGS - The owners of the Babcock Theater expect businesses to soon fill all the retail space in the renovated building.
Jimmy John's sandwich shop will open in a couple months in one of the spaces on Broadway.
A second art gallery will open in April.
Proposals have been received for the last retail space.
The owners say after a slowed economy, the project is going well.
"I'm not real certain that six months ago, eight months ago people would''ve been enthusiastic about starting into new businesses," said Mike Mathew, co-owner of Babcock Theater, LLC. "So we might have had debt early and still not have filled up the space. The retail getting filled might actually allow us to think this might be a profit center some day."
Mathew says having the 14 apartments full helped the company with cash flow and working on other parts of the project.
