BILLINGS - The Billings Police Department has made an arrest in connection with the recent home invasions and assaults of three elderly women.
Christopher Pine, a 32-year-old man from the Billings area has been arrested.
Pine has been charged with aggravated burglary and robbery. He is believed to be connected to both incidents on the 100 block of 11th Street West and Gregory Drive South.
Billings Police Leiutenant Kevin Iffland said on Friday that Pine was arrested early in the morning by detectives attempting to execute a seach warrant on a Billings home.
"Christopher Pine, who was arrested early this morning, pulled up in the stolen vehicle from the 100 block of the 11th Street West address with some other individuals. From there, detectives made an arrest on Christopher Pine and did book him into jail on charges of aggravated burglary and robbery."
Pine was not one of the individuals pictured in surveillance video images the police department released earlier in the week of several persons of interest.
Iffland said that the Billings Police Investigation Division is still actively working those cases and they say further details cannot be released at this time.
Iffland said Pine's arrest was the indirect result of tips the department received from the public.
Iffland said although he would like to think the Billings community would respond similarly to any request for tips from the police department, he believes the fact that the victims were elderly nuns sparked more interest in the case.
"I think the "nun" piece of it at least did catch people's attention," said Iffland.
