Last night's snow storm did indeed drop heavy snowfall in Billings and Yellowstone County. One of the big winners for snowfall was over at Big Sky. They recorded 11 inches of snow overnight. Down the road, Hardin measured 7.1 inches. Up to the north near Lewistown, places like Garneill picked up 9 inches of snow and so did Bozeman. Windham, between Great Falls and Lewistown, got 12 inches of snow and Hobson 7.
Here in Billings, we start off the new year with a surplus of precipitation. We officially measured 0.33 inches of melted precipitation. We only needed 0.02 of an inch of precipitation to be caught up for the day. Today's snow total came to 5 inches at the Airport where the Official measurement is made.
