BILLINGS - At the Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter, they say you can't have animals without people.
And people have offered support for the shelter's "My Furry Valentine" fundraiser, on Saturday.
It will be the first big fundraiser since the non-profit started running the shelter in 2009.
The event at Bones Brewing, will feature live music, a live auction and a silent auction.
The money will go toward a new intake cat room...a remodeled dog play yard...and animal education in schools
The community support shows how much people care about animals.
"I think animals are part of the family," said Chris Anderson, executive director of the shelter. "I know they're part of the family. Everybody looks at it that way. And it always makes people's hearts swell when they know that the critters in the community are being taken care of and there's a safe place for them to go."
The Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter fund raiser starts 6:00 on Saturday, at Bones Brewing at 1425 Broadwater Avenue.
