The parents of three children who are the subject of an Amber Alert are in custody after they were stopped by authorities on Interstate 90 near Manhattan this afternoon.

Ashley Todd, 29, and Curtis Drakeford, 33, were stopped at mile marker 291 heading eastbound on I-90 at around 2 p.m., according to Sgt. Patrick McCarthy.

An Amber Alert was issued for Kali Drakeford, 9; Ashton Drakeford, 8, and Cursten Drakeford, 6, after their parents took them to keep the children from CPS custody.

According to KIRO TV in Seattle, Detectives said the Drakefords traveled into the city of Deer Lodge, Montana, as late as 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday and believe they are continuing to head eastbound on Interstate 90.
CPS is concerned that the children are in danger because of a history of domestic violence between the parents. Both parents have mutual restraining orders which have been served, according to KIRO.

Montana Highway Patrol was assisted by the Gallatin County Sheriff's Office and other local agencies during the stop, according to McCarthy.

We have reporters on scene and will bring you more information when we receive it.
