Firefighters now have the Allen Fire east of Roundup 50% contained.
That fire was sparked by lightning Monday afternoon, and for a time - was threatening some two dozen homes in the Delphia Pines Subdivision, north of Highway 12.
But with the help of air support, crews were able to gain the upper hand and halt its progress.
Today, 80 firefighters are working to mop-up and douse some of the interior burning.
And in spite of the gusty winds last night, the fire has remained within the fire lines.
Fire bosses estimate the Allen fire charred 350 acres.
