MISSOULA - Allegiant Air will at least temporarily put a hold on its direct flights from Missoula to Los Angeles.
Allegiant started offering these non-stop flights three years ago, but it decided to put a hold on this flight because the demand is going down.
The Missoula International Airport Director Cris Jensen says Allegiant adjusts its schedule on a regular basis, but this is the first time it suspended a flight in Missoula.
"It is kind of a use or lose situation. If people don't take advantage of the service that's offered by Allegiant, or any airline for that matter, the airlines will make economic decisions. And those economic decisions could mean the loss of service," Jensen said.
Jensen says he expect the L.A. flight to be back in the spring, if the demand is there.
Allegiant flights to Phoenix Las Vegas and Oakland are not affected.
Billings flights are also not affected.
