BILLINGS - Just before 10:00am Friday Billings Police responded to a report of a head on collision at the Intersection of King Ave. West and South 20th St.West.
Billings Police Lt. Mark Cady tells Q2 News that a Lincoln passenger car driven by a female was driving the wrong way on King Avenue and struck a Chevy passenger car waiting at the stop light three car lengths back from the intersection.
Police believe that the driver of the Lincoln had a medical problem which caused her to drive the wrong direction on King Avenue. After missing multiple other vehicles waiting at the stop light she collided with the Chevy causing extensive front end damage to both vehicles.
Both drivers were transported to local hospitals with what appeared to be non life-threatening injuries.
Traffic eastbound on King Avenue was shutdown to one lane to handle the accident. Updates will be posted as they become available.
