BOZEMAN - The ex-wife of a Montana man charged with kidnapping and assaulting an 11-year-old girl in Wyoming has asked for sole custody of their two children ages 7 and 4.
The woman filed a petition Monday with the Gallatin County District Court asking for 100% custody of her and Jesse Speer's children. She also asked that if Speer is allowed to have visitation that it be supervised by Child Protective Services or police.
"I am asking for sole custody of my children for at least the next year. If Jesse is found not guilty we can revisit the plan in the future," she wrote.
Speer was charged Monday in Gallatin County District Court and is currently behind bars in the Gallatin County Detention Facility without bond awaiting extradition to Wyoming.
