COLUMBIA FALLS - A 50 year old Montana man is dead after a single vehicle accident that occurred south of Columbia Falls.
Montana Highway Patrol was notified of the accident a little after 8:00 a.m. on Sunday.
According to MHP the man was driving eastbound on Blackmer Lane when he drifted to the right, over-corrected, and went off the left side of the road.
The car passed through a private fence into a yard striking three trees The man, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was partially ejected through the passenger side window.
When first responders arrived at the scene, the man was already deceased.
The accident is still under investigation, and MHP isn't sure when the accident took place, but it's suspected that it happened sometime in the early morning hours.
Road conditions were described as bare and dry.
Speed is believed to have been a factor.
