BLUE CREEK - Blue Creek Volunteer Firefighters and the Department of Natural Resources Strike Team are fighting a fire southwest of Billings tonight.
Blue Creek Fire Chief Rick Cortez says the 40 plus acre fire is burning near the Blue Creek Shooting Range.
The call came in about 6 o'clock Thursday night, but within an hour crews made major progress. As of 7:15 p.m. Cortez says crews have fire lines around 90 percent of the blaze.
DNRC is assisting BCVF on the ground and with a helicopter in the air.
